Mullion Cove, a local business making traditional Cornish biscuits, is moving premises in order to expand the business after demand for their biscuits has outgrown their domestic kitchen in Clifton.

Not only is the business expanding to bigger premises but new staff have been appointed to aid production, especially in the run up to Christmas which is their busiest time.

Mullion Cove director, Sophie Bowden said, “Bordeaux Quay has always been top of my wish list as a business I’d like to work with and now I’m going to be baking my fairings alongside their talented chefs and bakers! Not only are they award-winning and have first-rate facilities but they also have a great reputation within the Bristol food industry. Another good thing is that they’ll be selling the freshly baked fairings in their deli so food miles will be non-existent!”

She added, “Having the space to expand means there’s room for product developing too with some exciting new flavours and products in the pipeline including a ‘hellishly hot’ chilli fairing for Halloween, delicately flavoured lavender shortbread and festive flavours for Christmas”

Mullion Cove are looking to stock new outlets with their delectable biscuits and recently visited some potential outlets in London, and are also looking at supplying hotels and boutique B&B’s with their trademark Cornish fairings as welcome gifts.

Mullion Cove fairings come in many flavours including Original Ginger and Spice, new flavour Fig and Ginger, Cinnamon Sugar and the increasingly popular Dark Chocolate and Ginger. They are sold in various Bristol outlets including The Mall Deli, Ruby and White, Arnos Vale Cemetery gift shop, Paper Scissors Stone and Molesworths of Henleaze.
