Great news for cheese lovers, as the Princess Victoria Street branch of Chandos Deli have announced a series of upcoming cheese tastings over the next few weeks.
Customers are asked to check in store for details of a Keens Cheddar tasting in June, along with a special Brie de Meaux promotion.
In addition, the deli are planning an all day tasting event for Saturday, July 7th, to which all of Bristol’s cheese lovers are invited!
Chandos Deli stock a number of award-winning cheeses, including Appleby Cheshire (International Cheese Awards Winner 2011), Torta de Barros (SuperGold World Cheese Award Winner 2011) and Barkham Blue (Best Blue Cheese at the British Cheese Awards 2011). Long-term relationships built up with farms and dairies mean that Chandos can host frequent tutored tastings in their shops – including welcoming the cheese-makers themselves to meet customers in the store.
Says Iain Keith-Smith, founder of Chandos Deli:
“I’m really looking forward to showcasing the wonderful selection of cheeses we have here. Our best sellers include West Country Cheddar, our Manchego and our 24 month old Parmesan. My personal favourites include Brie de Meaux and Cropwell Bishop Stilton, but it’s really difficult to choose sometimes as it depends on many factors, whether it’s the time of year, what you’re drinking with it or in what context you’re eating it.”
“I think the Berkswell from Ram Hall in the West Midlands is our secret showstopper. It’s a hard sheeps milk cheese, like an English Manchego or Pecorino. A truly delicious cheese – really nutty and sweet.”
We’ll keep you posted as soon as we hear any more about the July 7th event!
