Fans of backstreet boozer The Lion in Cliftonwood will be happy to know that the venue is now open for breakfast, six days a week.
From 7.30am to 12pm, Monday-Saturday, the pub now serves a wide variety of hot breakfast options alongside a range of drinks, sandwiches and pastries.
In addition to their standard “Irish breakfasts”, there are various other options available that are slightly different from the norm. I particularly like the sound of their Norse Breakfast (two pieces of dark rye bread toasted and topped with a hint of wasabi, smoked salmon, red onion and gherkin – £7.50), and “The Delux” – sour dough toast, topped with asparagus, smoked salmon, two poached eggs and coriander Hollandaise for £8.50.
There’s also a gluten free cooked breakfast option available, in addition to a vegetarian breakfast.
