The 17th to the 27th of May, if you weren’t already aware, marks Bristol’s annual Mayfest – a festival of contemporary theatre taking place at various locations throughout the city.
What am I doing writing about theatre rather than food? Well…there’s an easy explanation. Mayfest is the reason behind Park Street’s latest pop up – the Mayfest Cafe.
The cafe was made possible through the council’s Capacity Project: “a Bristol-based regeneration project aiming to open up empty and underused buildings for creative uses for the benefit of Bristol’s creative community, residents and visitors to the city”. Located in the Parlour, opposite College Green, the cafe is open throughout the festival from 11am to 6pm for coffees, cakes and toasties. With 40 Alfred Place, Hart’s Bakery, Attic Tea and Extract Coffee all working in partnership with the venue, expect high quality local food and drink! You’ll also be able to find out what’s going on at Mayfest and buy tickets.
Sounds like a perfect lunch break stop off for me this week!
