The Royal Bath and West Show has secured Edd Kimber, one of the nation’s most popular celebrity bakers, to open its brand new Festival of Baking, taking place at this year’s show from May 30 to June 2.
Edd baked his way to fame after winning BBC Two’s Great British Bake-Off in 2010 and has since appeared on numerous baking programmes. His most recent accomplishment is the launch of his baking book, ‘The Boy Who Bakes’, which features more than 80 delicious recipes for cakes, pastries, desserts and even ice cream.
The festival will kick-off with an hour long session by Edd on May 30, which will include a baking demonstration, expert advice talk and an exclusive book signing for festival goers.
The Royal Bath & West Festival of Baking, officially sponsored by creative kitchenware specialists Lakeland, was launched to celebrate the nation’s love of baking and to appeal to the thousands of visitors who descend on the show every year.
Throughout the four days of the show, the festival will host a number of expert talks from some of the industry’s biggest names and most innovative players at the event’s Lakeland kitchen. Lakeland will also host a number of baking demonstrations each day where visitors can catch a glimpse of the latest and smartest kitchen gadgets on the market.
Alan Lyons, The Royal Bath and West Show Manager said, “The Royal Bath and West Festival of Baking promises to be a terrific event celebrating the fine and quintessentially British art of baking. We’re very excited to have secured some of the UK’s and the region’s top baking experts and especially looking forward to Edd Kimber to open the festival at the show.”
The Royal Bath and West Show takes place from May 30 to June 2 at the Bath and West Showground in Shepton Mallet. Advance tickets also offer great savings.
