Inaugural “dinewithi” event, Wednesday, September 14th

Spread the love

Get your booking in quick! The evening of Wednesday, September 14th will play host to the inaugural event from the newly created dinewithi, developed to showcase the best of the produce that can be found throughout Bristol and the South West…

Dinewithi is a new concept from local chef Timothy Owen and entrepreneur Carlton Jefferis. Having run the kitchens at both The Star & Dove and The Oxford in Totterdown in the past, Tim set up his own firm, “Timothy’s Alive And Cooking”, providing catering services for anything from private dinner parties to large corporate functions.

He met Carlton, whose background is in technology and marketing, through friends and the two bonded over a love of food. Carlton’s involvement is in the admin and marketing side of dinewithi, and he’ll also be involved with front of house duties.

Talking about their mission on their website, Tim and Carlton say:

“The idea behind dinewithi is to serve up the very best of Bristol and the Westcountry. We know there’s a massive (and growing) foodie scene in the City and we’re proud of it. We’re therefore always amazed at how few restaurants really ‘blow the Bristol trumpet’, after all we’ve got some of the finest fayre in the country. dinewithi’s mission is to engage with diners, serve them the great tasting local food we’ve discovered from fabulous suppliers, growers, farmers, bakers, butchers, you name it. And we’ll constantly vary the choices and suppliers to give customers the opportunity to gain indepth knowledge of food in the area, and to give suppliers a chance to shine.

The pair’s first foodie event will be held at the recently opened 40 Alfred Place – a Kingsdown address that has recently opened as Bristol’s first permanent venue for a variety of pop-up ventures. £25 per head will get you a three course meal (vegetarian option available), with space for up to 40 guests and a fully licenced bar.

The evening is likely to book up fast, so get in touch with the dinewithi team by visiting their website – you’ll find details of how to book by phone, email or via Google Calendar – a nice touch!

This promises to be a fantastic evening, celebrating the best of the South West – I’ve booked my place already. Looking forward to seeing some of you there…

You can keep up to date with the team’s plans by subscribing to posts on their website, “liking” their Facebook page, or following them on Twitter…or all three!
