On Wednesday, December 7th, Easton-based East Bristol Bakery opened its second site at CARGO 2 at Wapping Wharf.
Taking over the unit that was formerly home to Bakers & Co, the new site is a collaboration from the team behind East Bristol Bakery, The Public Market and Brockley Stores. It means that visitors to Wapping Wharf now have a new provider of homemade breads, cakes and pastries to buy from.
East Bristol Bakery has been serving customers in Easton for the last five years, with their cinnamon swirls one of their biggest sellers. They’re now at CARGO 2 serving up a range of food and drink to take away, all using locally-sourced produce. Think sourdough loaves made with Shipton Mill flour, Extract Coffee, and sausage rolls made with locally-reared, free-range pork.
Says East Bristol Bakery Managing Director, Rob Hagen, “Wapping Wharf is an incredible community which already hosts some of the best food around. We love the other retailers already there (Meatbox, Bristol Cheesemonger, Herbivore to name just a few) and some of our favourite restaurants!
“We’re hoping to bring smiles in the morning – a cheery hello, an amazing Extract coffee, and freshly baked breakfast. We’ll be serving breakfast (think pastries, bacon sandwiches or bread to toast at home), lunch (home made sausage rolls, savoury danishes, sandwiches) and of course, ALL THE CAKE! We may even have a few mince pies up our sleeve in the run up to Christmas” he explains.
“We are really looking forward to working together with some of our new neighbours to help people understand about the journey of where our food comes from and where it is made!”
East Bristol Bakery at CARGO 2 is open 8-3pm Monday to Friday, and 9-4pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Find out more about them on their website.
