Bank Tavern Roast Dinner Bristol

The Bank Tavern in the city centre is one of the Bristol food and drink businesses that will be reopening on July 4th, serving drinks and Sunday roasts but with some changes.

The bar hours will remain the same (12pm to midnight Sun-Weds and 12pm to 1am Thurs-Sat), but are subject to change depending on demand. They are also looking at the kitchen hours to decide what will be best for weekday service.

Both the inside and outside of the pub will be reordered: tables limited to ensure social distancing, and, as per government advice, there will be no “vertical drinking” at the bar. Table service will be introduced to limit the amount of movement, and when it comes to the toilets, there will be a strict one in, one out policy.

The reintroduction of Sunday roasts has left The Bank Tavern thinking long and hard about how to pick up bookings. They will resume on July 5th – anyone with an existing booking for this date will be contacted to arrange the table. Unfortunately, with seating limitations now in place, some guests will have to have their bookings moved, but the pub is looking into alternative seating arrangements to facilitate this.

Existing bookings made for Sundays during lockdown will be honoured, with The Bank Tavern hoping to rebook these tables for some point during 2020 with this potential added seating. They realise that some diners may be disappointed with the revised bookings, but they’ll be working hard to rebook for as soon as possible – those affected should expect a phone call or email to rearrange.

Landlord Sam Gregory says “We are very excited to have the doors back open and to welcome our regulars and some new faces back into The Bank Tavern. We are making every effort to make sure the pub is set up for socially distanced drinks and food but we hope those who perhaps are unsure or have health conditions save their visit for when restrictions are relaxed again. We are very pleased to have our roasts back in-house and thank everyone who has booked one of our roast deliveries, it really helped us keep everything going”.
