Innovative wine lounge Le Vignoble to open at Finzels Reach

There’s more great food and drink news for Finzels Reach, with Le Vignoble wine lounge and shop opening within the development this autumn.

Cornwall-based French founder and wine connoisseur Yannick Loué came up with the idea for Le Vignoble ten years ago, after realising how many people stuck to well-known wine brands as they didn’t have the opportunity to find out more. He wanted to create somewhere where people could help themselves to new wines without being intimidated by a waiter or maitre-d’, which led to the opening of his first bar in Plymouth’s Royal William Yard seven years ago. Last year, a second premises in Bath’s Milsom Place followed suit…and now it’s Bristol’s turn.

Le Vignoble will offer up to 64 wines: a changing monthly selection that will be available for customers to pour from self-service Enomatic dispensers that keep each wine at its perfect temperature. Yannick wants to take the snobbery out of the wine tasting tradition, helping everyone to sample new wines and flavours. Each wine will come with tasting notes – and there will be highly trained staff on hand to guide customers towards new grapes, regions and varieties if needed.

At Le Vignoble, you’ll be able to buy wine in 25cl tasting glasses, or medium or large glasses. You’ll be able to pre-pay for your wines on a free membership card if you like, or just pay at the end of the evening. Those who take up the membership offer will also be able to preview new wines, as well as having priority booking for the various events that Le Vignoble hosts, such as pop-up guest restaurants and ‘meet the winemaker’ evenings.

It’s not just about the wine, though: a French tapas-style menu has been created to complement the wine, and includes meat and cheese platters (much imported directly from Paris), alongside various traditional hot dishes. And there are South West-sourced craft beers and ciders on offer, too.
