Hilton Garden Inn refurb - Bristol

Bristol’s Hilton Garden Inn on Temple Way has had a major refurb – which includes a brand new dining, drinking and socialising space.

The hotel, which is managed by Valor Hospitality Europe, is now home to a new space known as Recess, where guests can eat, drink and socialise any way they wish from day to night.

The former barriers and partitions between the restaurants and bars have now been removed to create an open plan design, meaning that guests can drink or dine anywhere in the space – including the outdoor terrace – for a calming city centre retreat. The reception and lobby areas have also been renovated.

Inside, expect raw steel finishes, timber wall cladding and exposed filament light fittings to give Recess an industrial feel, while there are also deep green fabrics, terrariums and cushioned lounge seating for comfort.

On the all day dining menu you’ll find sharers such as olives and a Ploughman’s board; small plates that include whitebait, a classic Rarebit and chicken liver parfait, and a range of salads. There’s also a burger bar with a choice of toppings, sandwiches, and main course options that include a Goan chicken curry, craft ale battered fish and chips, and lamb rump with mash and a white bean salad.

On the dessert menu there are tempting treats like Eton Mess, treacle tart and sticky toffee pudding, while the extensive drinks menu features a balanced wine list, various hot drink options and a choice of nine cocktails.
