Calypso Kitchen at Wapping Wharf is opening its doors to the public on Monday, March 21st, with a grand launch set for later this month.

The new venue is the brainchild of William Clarke and Ariel Czaczkes, founders of Biblos. This new, authentic Caribbean casual diner emerges out of William’s Barbados roots and is very close to his heart, with recipes having been handed down and refined over the generations.

William Clarke said: “Expect big flavours from the 24-hour ‘low and slow’ cooked curry goat, Jerk belly pork and barbecue Jerk baby back ribs. Tasty fish dishes like our pepper shrimp, grilled red mullet will also be on the menu, with vegetarians and vegans well catered for with such delights as red pepper and aubergine Gumbo, Bajan macaroni pie and sweet potato pie.”

The pair will also be bringing their popular Middle Eastern and Caribbean street food wraps to Wapping Wharf, with Ariel’s family recipes packed into Khobez flatbreads. Everything is made in-house, including the hummus, falafel mix, marinades and sauces.

Calypso Kitchen is open to the public from Monday (21st March) and is hosting a grand opening event at the end of the month.

Follow Calypso Kitchen on Twitter and Facebook to find out about their daily giveaways, which will take place from March 21st to 24th. Opening times from April 1st will be 11am to 10pm Sunday to Thursday, and 11am to 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
