Shake off any January blues and enjoy a delicious day at the first Love Food Festival of 2017.

Taking place two days before Valentine’s Day, the festival will be a celebration of love, community, and of course – food! As a great man once said; “There is no sincerer love than the love of food”

The indoor market will provide everything you need to cook a delicious meal for your loved ones. Expect locally reared meat, olives and oils, cheeses, wine, bread, fresh fish and shellfish along with demonstrations on what to do with it, including how to fillet a fish, shuck an oyster and prepare a crab.

You’ll be spoilt for present ideas too: local florist ‘Floriography by Vera Fallacy’ will be on hand with flowers, plants, and magic floral spells, which you can make to take home with you. Neal’s Yard will be selling their organic beauty products and offering massages, there’ll be secondhand cookbooks, jewellery, locally made chocolates, herbal teas and other goodies to treat the ones you love.

Elsewhere, award-winning children’s cook Jo Ingleby will be showing parents and children how to make some delicious seasonal dishes in the cookery corner. There will also be a Valentine’s card making station and plenty of books for hungry young minds.

The street food line-up promises to delight your taste buds with crispy squid from South Street Kitchen, salt beef from The Pickled Brisket, authentic Mexican dishes from Los Hermanos and jerk chicken from Agnes Spencer’s amongst the dishes on the menu. Hot food is available from 10.30am.

After their Valentine’s event, Love Food Festival will return in April with their ‘Spring Festival’ at The Passenger Shed, Temple Meads, on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd April.
