It’s Chocolate Week this week (October 10th – 16th), so what better time for Bristol’s very own chocolate festival to announce its plans for 2017?
Taste Chocolate will take place on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th April 2017, once again coinciding with the Easter weekend. For next year, the festival will move into Bristol’s first central five star hotel, the Bristol Harbour Hotel & Spa which opens on Corn Street next week.
The festival will be hosted in the hotel’s magnificent Sansovino Hall, the former banking hall of the Lloyds Bank building, and will feature artisan chocolatiers, specialist food producers, cookery demonstrations and new tasting experiences for 2017.
Those who visit the event can expect indulgent, beautifully crafted chocolates including speciality chocolates such as water ganache, raw, dairy and sugar free options – as well as traditional handmade soft centres and truffles. There will be many complimentary artisan treats including cakes and patisserie, fudge, locally made beers, spirits and liqueurs and indulgent hot chocolate.
The festival will also celebrate Bristol’s fascinating chocolate heritage, with the event taking place just a stone’s throw from JS Fry’s original shop on Small Street. Here, he first started selling chocolate in 1756, paving the way for the company to become one of Britain’s largest chocolate producers.
Exhibitors, chocolatiers, chefs and local artisan producers interested in getting involved in the 2017 festival should contact David Pyne or Sophie Bowden or at CASUS Events by e-mailing david@casus-events.co.uk or sophie@casus-events.co.uk.
