The Ring O Bells in Compton Martin will be hosting their 4th annual Cider & Cheese Fayre on Sunday 1st May from 12-6pm.
Those who attend the event will be able to sample over 25 artisan cheeses and ‘real’ local ciders, as well as a fantastic variety of local produce. The Pukka Airstream Cafe will be back, along with the Yeo Valley Ice Cream Van, and there will also be a hog roast and a BBQ to soak up all that cider.
The May Day celebrations will feature The Mendip Morris Men plus a traditional maypole dance performed by local children, along with a tug-o-war, birds of prey and archery. The Invisible Youth Circus and Lighter Than Air will also be there, meaning that you can learn to walk a tightwire or ride in a hot air balloon.
Folk music from Squeeze Fiddle Pluck and Ant Noel & The Peabody Drakes promise to entertain the masses, along with ukuleles and bag pipes.
Half of the proceeds of the £3.00 entrance fee is donated to a fantastic cause, the Bristol Children’s Help Society, for whom The Ring O Bells have raised £3,500 over the past two years. The Air Balloon is in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
In the evening, there will be a ticketed event featuring two tribute acts – Ultimate Elton and ELO AGAIN. Tickets for the evening can be bought by clicking here.
