Kansai Kitchen

Kansai Kitchen will be taking over The Hillgrove‘s kitchen from July 21 to August 1, delivering an authentic Japanese izakaya menu. Dishes are served on small plates and are intended to be shared with a beer or two in the style of a Japanese izakaya: a casual drinking establishment like a pub, where food is served alongside the drinks.

Kansai Kitchen was founded by Liam and Tim as a pop-up and street food venture after returning from Japan to their hometown of Bristol.

The kitchen will be open from 6pm to 10pm between July 21 and August 1, serving a range of traditional Japanese dishes that include:

– Edamame (Steamed soy beans with sea salt)

– Saba no misoni (Gently simmered mackerel in a rich and sweet miso and ginger sauce served with a vegetable garnish)

– Chicken Tatsutaage (Japanese-style crispy deep fried chicken with oriental radish and citrus ponzu dressing)
