From Saturday 29th November, The Harbourside Christmas Market will transform Bristol’s waterfront into a festive destination for families, shoppers and tourists.
At the heart of this special Christmas market will be local artisans, crafters and designer makers; offering an independent alternative to the high street. Visitors can browse through a host of Christmas gift options, or treat themselves! The Harbourside Christmas Market is more than just a shopping experience and there will be more festive treats than you can shake a stocking at – look out for live music, free workshops, face-painting, food demos and performances.
The Harbourside Christmas Market will be open from 10am until 6pm every Saturday and Sunday from Saturday 29th November until Sunday 21st December. Details on the programme of activities can be found on the website and all are free to attend. Market Manager, James Coomber, explains “Christmas is a magical time of year and we are inviting visitors to the Harbourside Christmas Market to share the magic with us. There’s loads for families to do, from festive craft workshops, food demos from the talented kitchen team at No.1 Harbourside to face painting. We’ve made sure all these activities are free so visitors can share our festive spirit!”
From 1pm on Saturdays shoppers can look forward to performances from the Brass Junkies – a dynamic 8 piece brass band – while on Sundays local choirs will provide a festive feel. Shooting Roots, a folk arts company, will be offering a range of craft workshops inside No.1 Harbourside at 11am and 12.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays and there will be a programme of food demos from local bakery Lynda’s Loaf and Nadya Ramdany from the No.1 Harbourside kitchen team. A full schedule of events can be found at www.theharboursidemarket.co.uk; all are free to attend but some require registration beforehand.
