A two day festival celebrating fantastic real food from local West Country producers and exciting artisan products from around the UK.
Weston super Food Festival brings to the seaside a two day celebration of delicious food and drink crafted by small local West Country producers and award-winning organic and artisan producers from around the UK. The festival includes hands-on activities and tasting sessions for all ages, live entertainment and over 100 stalls in one vibrant space.
Bustling indoor and outdoor markets located a few metres from the seafront in the Winter Gardens and Town Square give visitors the chance to browse, taste and buy a tempting treat to take home. Delectable ‘food-to-go’ is available to enjoy on the day from a variety of gourmet street food stalls whatever the weather in the covered outdoor eating area and live music marquee. Real Ale and cider bars offer the perfect opportunity to enjoy a locally brewed pint.
Professional chefs share culinary tips in the demonstration kitchen, and ‘meet the producer’ sessions allow discovery of the real stories behind food. Foodie celebrity Mike Smylie’s Kipperland offers something completely different as he gives visitors the chance to taste kippers direct from his live smokery. There’s the opportunity to enjoy wine tasting, learn practical skills and new recipes, and a Taste the World Experience where visitors can sample a diverse selection of dishes from a variety of different countries.
Families are kept busy and entertained in the fabulous new Food is Fun Pavilion offering cookery workshops, tastings and demonstrations, food-themed art activities, Lego workshops and face painting.
Gardening and growing, an important part of the good food experience, is highlighted by specialist seed merchants, a herb nursery and an on-site Edible Festival Garden to inspire visitors to ‘grow your own’.
Weston super Mare’s many great cafés and restaurants offer special festival menus and deals during the festival weekend and throughout Weston super Food Festival Fortnight (September 13th – 28th). Self-guided food trails are available to aid the discovery of the very best foodie haunts around Weston super Mare.
