Fanny & Johnnie Cradock cook up a storm in Show Of Strength’s acclaimed dinner show, Fanny & Johnnie Cradock Cook the Great American Songbook.
The sell-out show – featured on BBC 2’s The Hairy Bikers TV series in April – opened last year in Bristol and has just had a successful revival. In September it returns for a regional tour that includes the Arnos Manor Hotel on September 15th, and The Square Club on September 26th.
The Cradocks namedrop, argue, insult, parlez dodgy Français, sing, and reveal Fanny’s dark Somerset roots as they serve up a feast of entertainment and a two – or three – course meal. Fanny hilariously demonstrates both courses before they’re served: her signature Prawn Cocktail and a classic chicken dish (with vegetarian options available)
There’s a bit of help from the audience, regular bursts of song assisted by Johnnie at the piano and lots of hilarity!
Kate McNab & John Telfer play Fanny & Johnny. Jazz singer Kate is also well known through her own company The Ministry of Entertainment, while actor and singer John Telfer was a regular in TV’s Bergerac and is currently the Vicar of Ambridge in Radio 4’s The Archers.
Writer/producer Sheila Hannon said, ‘During the show Fanny demonstrates her original Prawn Cocktail and a new chicken dish she invented for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Then they are served to the audience/diners (with vegetarian options available). Of course there’s always more than one way to skin a cat – or, indeed, to shell a prawn. And creative chefs and restaurants can have great fun reinventing Cradock Classics for 21st century diners.’
Dinner with the Cradocks is packed full of theatrical flavour and culinary delights and tickets are selling like Fanny’s hot doughnuts. This is a highly entertaining and hugely enjoyable night out – a feast for all the senses!
