The owners of Wapping Wharf’s Tare are opening their latest venture, Picole, in Wapping Wharf’s CARGO 2 this week.
Tare founder Matt Hampshire opens his new venue today (Wednesday, December 7th), focusing on sustainably-produced food, warm hospitality and natural and low-intervention wines. You’ll find Picole in the unit formerly home to Woky Ko’s Rooftop restaurant.
Born out of a passion for excellent wine, Picole will have more of a drinks focus than its sister restaurant – with these wines being accompanied by a selection of small plates and snacks.
Matt says, “We’ve been hoping to do something more wine-focused alongside Tare for the last couple of years. As we expanded our wine offering, built relationships with suppliers and, most importantly, shared our passion for wine with our guests, Picole started to take shape. When a beautiful unit in Cargo 2 became available, we jumped at the opportunity”.
“Guests can expect a thoughtfully selected wine list that our team will happily guide you through, alongside a collection of snacks, sharing boards and small plates” he continues.
“After many late nights at Tare discussing the possibility of opening a new venue centred around the food and wine we love, we’re thrilled to see Picole take shape and can’t wait to share it with you all very soon.”
