This Saturday, October 1st, over 50 food and drink stalls will be coming to Bedminster’s East Street to showcase the very best of local food and drink.

eat:Bedminster, organised by the eat:Bedminster team and supported by the Bedminster Business Improvement District (BID), is a free-to-attend street food festival for visitors from the local community and wider Bristol area. The stalls, selling locally sourced produce, will complement existing traders on East Street, which include everything from vegan junk food outlets to those serving the classic English breakfast.

Bristol-based businesses that will be trading at eat:Bedminster include local pastry makers and bakeries, such as Creamberry Artisan, Diggity Doughnuts and Dark Matters. On a more savoury note, you’ll find Sri Lankan street food business Ceylon and Beyond, sustainable seafood specialist King Fin and vegan food pop-up Soy Ahoy.

You’ll be able to buy locally-brewed beverages from The Incredible Brewing Co, as well as chutneys, sauces, jams and marmalades from Gingerbeard Preserves.

In addition to Bristol businesses, there will be traders from across the West Country: cheese from Bath Soft Cheese Co, meats from Somerset Charcuterie, and veg from Riverford Organic Farmers and Veg Life. Enjoy savoury street food classics from Big Munch Mac & Cheese and The Bratman, and sweet treats from Churros El Quijote, based in Exeter.

Drinks-wise, you’ll be able to get your hands on Secret Orchard cider from Taunton, Harry’s Cider from Langport, and Pier and Lighthouse Gin from The Clevedon Distillery.

Have allergies or dietary needs? Various stalls will have products suitable for vegeterians and vegans, as well as those with gluten allergies or who are following a keto diet – Gluten Free Picnic and Kinetic Kitchen Ltd, for example.

As well as food and drink, you’ll find products like botanical skin and haircare by Boo Cottage Botanicals, and family-grown herb plants from the Kitchen Garden Plant Centre. There will also be live music and strolling entertainment to add to the atmosphere.

eat:Bedminster is on from 10am to 4pm, during which time East Street will be closed to traffic. The market will be laid out so that pushchairs, buggies and wheelchairs can easily navigate their way through – and the team are inviting people to attend the free event with their whole family – including their dogs if they wish!

Bev Milner Simonds, Director and Founder of eat:Festivals said: “The partnership with Bedminster BID has given us the opportunity to create a new event for the area – showcasing the bricks and mortar businesses that are here all year round and adding some tasty complimentary producers, makers and entertainment. Bedminster is unique – offering us fresh opportunities for making local connections, discovering new producers and creating new habits.”

Simon Dicken, Chair of Bedminster BID said: “eat:Bedminster is a great opportunity in Autumn to head out and support local traders and explore all the new businesses that have opened in the area over summer. East Street is jam-packed with inspirational entrepreneurs and this event will see the street come alive with independent traders with foods from every corner of the world.”
