StoryTrails – a new, free immersive storytelling experience – is coming to Bristol on August 20th and 21st, with a foodie theme.
Billed as the largest immersive storytelling experience in the UK, StoryTrails is touring 15 UK cities. Commissioned by UNBOXED: Creativity in the UK, it will bring people together through free, large-scale immersive installations and globally accessible digital experiences.
But what does this have to do with food, you ask? Taking place at Bristol Central Library and around the city’s streets, residents and visitors are invited to come down and explore the history of the city: including the story of the Majothis, a refugee family who brought the tastes of India and Africa to Bristol, ending at the iconic Bristol Sweet Mart.
Their story will be told through immersive augmented and virtual reality experiences, through mobile devices and through immersive cinema in the library. It promises to be an exciting event that you can enjoy at your own pace, and with a choice of story trails to follow, it should be an educational and varied weekend!
All activities are completely free – just turn up and join in. If you don’t have your own mobile device to follow the trail, it may be possible to borrow one for the tour.
