On July 24th, Too Good To Go – the world’s largest surplus food app – will host a one-off ‘Great Gourmet Food Rescue’ in the heart of Bristol.
For one day only, Bristolians will have the chance to save ‘Magic Bags’ featuring discounted surplus products from a range of luxury artisan snack brands, preventing this surplus food from going to waste.
Organised in collaborationwith Greene King, the Great Gourmet Food Rescue will take place outside the Air Balloon pub on Gloucester Road North between 11am and 4pm. During this time, you’ll be able to head over and collect your exclusive Gourmet Bag, which must be reserved in advance via the Too Good To Go app.
Priced at £9.50 each, these bags will contain a selection of luxury snack products, many of which have been awarded Great Taste Awards, and which are worth £34 in total. Highlights include chorizo bites from Snaffling Pig, luxury Salty Dog crisps, an award-winning orange and mace herb vinegar from Womersley Foods, and a spiced apple ‘fruit for cheese’ from artisan producers Global Harvest, awarded a rare 3* at the Great Taste Awards.

B Corp and social impact company Too Good To Go allows people to buy surplus food and drink from all sorts of businesses – including pubs, restaurants, hotels, producers and grocery stores – to stop it from going to waste. All you need to do is download the app, search for nearby businesses with unsold produce and reserve and pay for your ‘Magic Bag’, collecting it at your allotted time.
