Bristol-based company Wild and Game, who are on a mission to get more people in the UK eating and enjoying wild game meats, have launched a special romantic recipe box to brighten the February lockdown – and we have one to give away.
Inspired by Valentine’s Day, the February box – which will be available to buy for £49.99 from the Wild and Game website from February 1st – features an exclusive book of seven romantic recipes for two from around the world, along with all of the game needed to cook the recipes. The recipes for February include venison steaks with stroganoff sauce, Caribbean-style jerk pheasant with rice and peas, and Indonesian pheasant curry.
Formed in 2017 with the aim of putting game back on British menus, Wild and Game are championing this healthy, sustainable source of meat with low food miles. Their belief is that it deserves to be just as popular and readily available as other meats that are more commonly found in the supermarkets.
They sell all sorts of game products, including game pies, sausages, ready meals and more, to showcase how versatile game can be. And they also sell a range of ready-to-cook wild game so that people can create their own dishes at home. These include their monthly recipe boxes, which they say are proving a big hit as people have been cooking more often and more experimentally during COVID-19.
Wild and Game co-founder, Steven Frampton, says, “When we founded Wild and Game, we recognised that many people lacked confidence when it comes to cooking with game. To address that problem, we’ve built up a great range of ready meals, sausages, pies and more – but we also have a big collection of recipes on our website that show how well game works in a huge range of dishes, not just the traditional British fare you might expect.
