New dates have been announced for the 2020 Bristol Craft Beer Festival, bringing the first event back to the city – and maybe even the UK – post-lockdown.
Taking place from Friday 11th to Saturday 12th September at the Lloyds Amphitheatre, the organisers are ensuring that safety is the number one priority. However, they’re also making sure that the event will be an incredible celebration of Bristol’s great beer and independent food scenes, curating the best craft breweries, local food traders and artisan food producers.
Greg Wells, founder of Bristol Craft Beer Festival, explains:
“We’re working with Bristol City Council and the licensing bodies to make sure we’re operating safely and within guidelines as they’re released by the Government. We wanted to do our best to host an awesome event this year as we think we all need a little something to look forward to!
“The last few months have been tough for us all, but as we’re starting to see green shoots of recovery, particularly in the hospitality industry, it’s really important to support those local businesses which need our help, and in some way get Bristol back doing what it does best.
“Bristol is a tremendous beer and food city and we have amazing producers right on our doorstep – the 2020 Bristol Craft Beer Festival will be in honour of them. While the festival obviously won’t be exactly the same as previous years, we want to safely raise a glass in support of this awesome city.
“The 2020 Bristol Craft Beer Festival will feature a number of enhanced safety procedures, which include increased PPE at service areas, updating queuing and directional signage for visitors, app-based registration to comply with track and trace, rigorous cleaning and sanitising throughout and in between sessions, increased entry and exit points, toilets as well as admittance by advance tickets only and no cash payments.”
On offer will be beers from local breweries like Arbor Ales and Wiper & True, as well as both national and international brands from Leeds’ Northern Monk to Denmark’s To Øl. In addition, expect food from local outlets like Eatchu, Asado and Two Belly, as well as live music from local DJs.
For the price of just one ticket, you’ll have access to all of these beers – there’s no additional cost token system which would mean paying extra to sample the brews on offer.
Greg continues: “Bristol Craft Beer Festival has always been more than just a beer festival – and this year that is especially true. While travel and logistics might sadly restrict a few breweries attending in person, there will still be hundreds of amazing beers from the best breweries both local and international.”
Should a second lockdown be implemented and the festival be pushed back to 2021, any tickets purchased will automatically roll over to the 2021 or 2022 edition.
