FREE vegan treats for University of Bristol students

On January 26th, Bristol-based vegan charity Viva! will be giving out FREE vegan cookies and Oatly milk to University of Bristol students.

The charity will be touring the UK, and they’ll be at the University of Bristol’s Richmond Building from 12pm to 4pm on Sunday, January 26th. Here, they’ll be handing out four different types of vegan cookies, as well as the new semi-skimmed and chocolate Oatly milks to celebrate Veganuary – completely free of charge.

This follows a hugely successful Viva! tour of university fresher fairs in 2019, where they spoke to thousands of students about the dairy industry, and the benefits of going dairy-free.

Viva! say that over 380,000 people have pledged to go vegan by signing up to Veganuary this year, with consumer buying habits shifting as more people recognise the impact that veganism can have on their health, animals and the planet.

Will Sorflaten, Viva! Campaigner, explains the reasoning behind the tour.

“We’re touring to educate students about the health, animal welfare and environmental motivations for going dairy-free. With this event, we are hoping to reach new students who may have never considered plant-based alternatives.

“Going dairy-free is such a positive and simple change to make. With our tasty range of cookies and dairy-free milks we’re going to be showing students how delicious it is too! It is so easy and cost-effective to be vegan at university, more and more young people are choosing to use their consumer power to lessen their environmental impact and save animals.

“So if you want to try some or simply want to learn more about veganism, come visit our stall. We’re expecting queues so make sure that you get there early to enjoy some free tasty treats!”
