The name Farro Bakery will be familiar to those who frequent the Tobacco Factory Market and the Whiteladies Road Market. The Farro team serve up all sorts of flaky baked delights – from their croissants and pains au chocolat to their beautifully fluted canelés de Bordeaux and their sweet and buttery Kouign-amann – a labour-intensive pastry made with croissant dough which originates from Brittany.
They also supply a number of Bristol cafés, so you may well have tried their wares in the past without recognising the name…
But as of the end of May, you’ll be able to enjoy a Farro Bakery pastry or loaf every day of the week, with the opening of their public-facing premises at 1 Brunswick Square.
Perfectly located for those who live or work around the Cabot Circus, Stokes Croft or St Paul’s area, it’s going to be a welcome addition to Bristol’s bakery scene. Since getting the keys to the new premises at the end of March, the team has been hard at work tiling and decorating their new Brunswick Square home, having beautiful new wooden bread racks custom-built for them, and enduring the blood, sweat and tears of shifting across a 500kg cast iron mixer.
