Butcombe summer beer competition

Butcombe Brewery has not only been announced as its first official sponsor for the 2019 Bristol Food Connections festival…but they’re also creating the first ever Food Connections Festival Beer. And they’re also giving you the chance to win a great prize…

The fifth Bristol Food Connections festival takes place between June 12th and 23rd 2019, celebrating every aspect of the journey of food, from field to fork.

And Butcombe Brewery’s new festival beer promises to be the perfect partner. It’ll be a 3.8% hoppy session pale ale. This dry hopped, light amber beer will have a creamy head and a spicy, well-balanced flavour comes from a combination of Challenger, WGV and Fuggles hops, along with Maris Otter for maltiness.

What’s more, Butcombe will be donating 10p from every pint sold to Bristol Food Connections to create and support community events for the 2020 festival.

And there’s the chance for you…yes, YOU, to win a fantastic prize, too. The new festival beer has no name as yet, and Butcombe Brewery are asking members of the public to suggest their own names. The winner will be treated to a VIP tour of the brewery, some merchandise, a few mini kegs of Butcombe beer and two tickets to the launch of Bristol Food Connections in June, as well as the opportunity to pull the first pint sold at an event this May.

More details about the competition – including the entry form – are on the Bristol Food Connections website here. Entries close on Friday, March 17th, 2019, and the winner – selected by a panel from Bristol Food Connections and Butcombe – will be announced in May. And if you want to try the new brew, you’ll find it across all official festival venues as well as across the Butcombe pubs and inns estate from Bath to Gloucestershire from May 13th onwards.
