It’s a real shame that Le Poivrot at 47 Colston Street is no more…but Richard Tring (of Red Light and Weber & Trings) will be continuing in the same premises when it reopens as Downtown Taqueria on Friday, October 5th.
He’ll be the man behind the drinks, and Jack Bain (formerly of Cherry Duck Bistro and The Parlour, among others) will be heading up the food, with Downtown Taqueria set to serve loaded tacos, cocktails, tequila, and mezcal.
The website isn’t yet live, but we can confirm that the venue will be open from midday Monday to Friday (closing at midnight daily) with a £5 lunch deal on offer, and will be grabbing the post-work crowd with a daily happy hour from 4-7pm. On Saturdays, they’ll be serving up a Mexican brunch complete with bottomless Bloody Marys too…
What’s more, for the first week (October 5th – 11th), the Downtown Taqueria team will be offering a 50% discount on both food and drink, which is sure to bring plenty of people in…just make sure you arrive early, as they won’t start to take bookings until October 12th!
