Goram & Vincent: New restaurant for the Avon Gorge Hotel

For great food with equally impressive views, get yourself over to Goram & Vincent at the Avon Gorge by Hotel du Vin, which opened this month.

Named after a local legend of two giant brothers who fell in love with the same woman, Goram & Vincent is a brand new concept from Hotel du Vin, developed specifically for the Avon Gorge Hotel. “Committed to serving the best seasonal produce and ethically sourced ingredients in a relaxed, informal setting”, it’s a gritty smokehouse with an open kitchen, a smoker, coal-fired grills and bespoke clay ovens.

Open seven days a week for breakfast, weekend brunch, lunch, snacks and dinner, the menu is certainly varied. For breakfast, enjoy anything from brioche French toast to a traditional breakfast. Or, if you’re visiting for lunch or dinner, the à la carte menu includes starters such as Barbecue Gloucester Old Spot, St Louis Cut Ribs (prime Gloucester Old Spot pork ribs, signature barbecue sauce, pickled red chilli) and Baked Scallop Pie on the Half Shelf (baked scallops, chestnut mushrooms, shallots, creamy Gruyère).

Signature main courses from the dedicated smoker include Beef Brisket (with pickled red cabbage, aged feta, fennel & pomegranate) and 30 Day Aged Beef Rib (with baked sweet potato and bib salad).  Desserts range from 18 Layer Black Forest Gateaux to Charlotte Royale.

There’s also a three-course Sunday lunch on offer for £28.95, which includes the Super Food Deli Table featuring a buffet of fresh Mediterranean salads with British charcuterie from Castellano’s and a selection of smoked and cured fish put together by Severn & Wye smokery, and Big Sunday Roast.

As you’d expect from a Hotel du Vin property, the brand’s expert sommeliers have also chosen a whole host of fine wines from around the world to accompany the food menu.
