Molloy’s, Reflex, Popworld…16-24 Baldwin Street has seen plenty of change, but now it’s time for something totally different as The Birkett Tap is now open.
Part of The Stonegate Pub Company, The Birkett Tap promises “a rustic pub with a fun, energetic atmosphere”. The drinks menu is varied – everything from cocktails and craft beers to 15 different gins, various wines and a selection of smoothies for the non-drinkers. On the food front, there’s a hell of a lot of choice…pizzas, burgers, tapas dishes, sandwiches, salads, steaks…pretty much something for everyone. There’s a kids’ menu and a gluten-free menu too, and special offers on food throughout the week. Meat-free Mondays offer a free smoothie with veggie meals, there are 10 chicken wings for £3 on Wednesdays, 2-4-1 pizzas on Thursdays, and lunch and a soft drink for £6.50 Monday to Friday.
As well as the food and drink, they’ll be showing live sports on the pub’s screens, and there are plenty of events planned too: think bring your own vinyl nights, FIFA tournaments, retro games nights and more.
The Birkett Tap is open from 10am to 11pm Monday to Thursday, from 10am to 1am Fridays and Saturdays, and from 10am to 10.30pm on Sundays. Want to find out more? Visit their website, or follow them on Facebook.
Not a very good impression from our first visit here. Ordered our food after half an hour had to ask what had happened to our order, were told there was not an order for our table even though my daughter had discussed the gluten free options with the server. Went to theatre not having eaten as did’nt have time to wait. 3 other people at bar with same problem. if you are in a rush or are going tosee a show I would not recommend this place. Didn,t get an apology just the money shoved back in my daughter’s hand.
