Later this month, Meat Box comes to Wild Beer for a beer pairing with a difference on the evening of Monday, April 23rd. If you’ve always wanted to know your flank from your bavette and how to cook each to perfection, then this is the evening for you…with beers to help the evening along nicely too.

Luke Hasell, owner of Meat Box, will be joined by expert butcher Chris Vincent to talk guests through the cuts of beef and why Luke cares so much about high welfare meat and breeding happy and healthy livestock. Chris will talk you through all the cuts and demonstrate some butchery, while Head Chef Matthew Young will cook up a selection of organic steaks, before chatting you through how to get the best from your steak of choice.

The collaboration, which is becoming quite a trend for the Wapping Wharf collective of independent businesses, is timed as part of Great British Beef Week and, if successful, could be the start of regular butchery demos and classes.

Luke Hasell, owner of Meat Box and local organic farmer said: “It’s not just about selling tasty and high welfare meat at Meat Box: it’s about helping people understand the cuts and how to get the best from what you buy. We had so many enquiries and questions about what we supply that we jumped at the chance to come to Wild Beer and do a demo. After all; steak and beer, what more is there to love?”

Following this collaboration, Wild Beer will be holding its first ever steak night on Friday, April 27th, with tickets available to book soon.

To book a place on the demo on April 23rd, pop into or call Wild Beer on 0117 329 4997. Places are limited, and are priced at £10 p/p, including 5 steak and beer pairings.
