Great news for fans of dirty burgers and even dirtier fries! The legendary Oowee Diner, which has made a name for itself since opening on Picton Street, is now making its way south of the river to North Street.

Opening in the former Bagel Boy premises, the team announced on Facebook that the paperwork has all been signed, and the restaurant is set to open five weeks from the announcement made on September 19th – which, by our calculations, makes late October.

It’s a bigger premises than their current home on Picton Street – which means the ability to eat in as well as to take away – and the guys at Oowee have promised that they’ll be serving the most popular items from their existing menu, as well as some brand new creations which, based on previous innovations, look set to be seriously exciting indeed.

Popular favourites on their existing menu include burgers such as the Saucy Bird (with crispy southern chicken thigh, American and Swiss cheese and Oowee baconnaise), Cluckin’ Fries (with fried chicken, grilled cheese and gravy) and a range of regularly changing specials. In recent weeks, we’ve seen the launch of treats such as chicken kiev fries, the chicken and waffle burger and the Sloppy Joe beef patty – Southville burger fans are in for a treat.

We’ll keep you posted as soon as we hear more about an official opening date!
