They’ve taken over the kitchens at the Golden Lion and at Kongs…but now the Burger Theory team are set to open their very first restaurant.
Currently running the kitchen at Kongs on King Street and the Golden Lion on Gloucester Road, Rory Perriment and Oliver Thorogood started their creative burger journey in 2012, taking their own brand of burgers to festivals, food fairs, weddings and more. Using Walter Rose and others for their beef, The Proper Bread Bakery for their buns, A.David for their veg and Ashton Farms for their dairy products, they truly believe that local is best: for freshness, for the environment and for the economy.
Their menu includes beefy options such as The Don (beef, bacon and pepperoni patty infused with garlic, chilli and oregano, topped with pizza sauce and mozarella) and other meats such as the Ghengis Carn (crispy aromatic lamb with pickled carrot, cucumber, spring onions and soy, topped with ginger and honey lamb jus), as well as vegetarian options that include the Southern Hippie: a southern fried portobello mushroom topped with fried halloumi, then drenched in Franks hot sauce and blue cheese dressing.
Now, the pair are pleased to announce that they have the keys to their very own restaurant, which will be opening in central Bristol in August 2017. Serving burgers, dirty fries, cocktails, craft beer, fresh juices and with the promise of a “bottomless burger club”, it’s very exciting news indeed.
