On Tuesday December 6th, Eat Drink Bristol Fashion will host a special Candle-lit Supper at Yurt Lush in support of a new fundraising campaign, Shine for ShelterBox, launched by the international disaster relief charity.
Josh Eggleton has worked with Yurt Lush chefs Oscar Davis and Matt Puchowski to design a unique sharing menu for this fundraising meal which will support ShelterBox’s invaluable work, helping to bring immediate safety to those who have lost everything in disaster and conflict zones around the world.
For this ShelterBox supper, Yurt Lush will be transformed into a candle-lit banquet hall as those who attend get the chance to sample a five course sharing menu which reads as follows:
Smoked Haddock Croquette, Whipped Cod Roe
Seared Venison, Butternut Squash, Hazelnut Salad
Pickled Herring, Dill, Red Cabbage
Slow Roasted Shoulder of Lamb, Cooked on Potatoes and Onion, Sprout Tops
Chilled Spiced Rice Pudding, Hot Custard, Toasted Marshmallow Ice Cream
Tickets for this special event cost £45, which includes the five courses and a welcome cocktail, with proceeds going to ShelterBox to help some of the most vulnerable people around the world. You can buy tickets online via Foozie, by clicking here.
Currently, ShelterBox teams are deployed in Haiti following the devastation caused by Hurricane Matthew, and have also recently been deployed to Mosul where the humanitarian crisis is estimated to displace 1,000,000 people in urgent need of food, shelter and protection.
This winter, you can also support Shine for ShelterBox campaign by getting together with friends and family and hosting their own fundraising candlelit supper. To find out more and to request a fundraising kit, visit www.shelterbox.org/shine.
