Nutmeg Indian Restaurant Clifton Village

Exciting new Indian restaurant Nutmeg opens its doors in Clifton Village on Friday 28 October, with an ambitious Menu 29 that draws inspiration from the 29 states of India.

Aiming to source ingredients from within a three mile radius – with meat coming from the prestigious Ruby & White – owners Raja and Charlotte will be introducing dishes such as beef madras and pork chop vindaloo to number 10, The Mall, along with plenty of others that you won’t find in more traditional Indian restaurants.

Says Raja, “I grew up in a village in Southern India and I was always the cook in the family so my life has been shaped by my experiences with ingredients and flavours. I’ve gone from sleeping under tamarind trees while helping my father in rice fields, to working in restaurants for the last ten years, and now opening my own restaurant. We can’t wait to join the fantastic range of restaurants in Clifton Village. There are so many different varieties of cuisine spanning India. Nutmeg embraces the differences in ingredients and dishes across the regions.”

The main room of the restaurant has a huge mural by street art experts Graft Workshop, and Raja and Charlotte have also hired an award-winning cocktail bartender who will be giving an Indian twist to some classic cocktails.

Nutmeg is now taking bookings and you can contact them at info@nutmegbristol.com to book a table. Follow the team on Twitter at @nutmegclifton for updates…
