Rajmoni, previously located at 88A Queens Road behind The Victoria Rooms, closed in April this year. According to their Facebook page, they were “going under refurbishment for the next 2 months and will unfortunately be CLOSED until further notice”.
“Until further notice” appears to mean “permanently”: as of Thursday, August 4th, new restaurant The Chopping Court is open in its place.
Described on Twitter as Bristol’s first halal steak house, The Chopping Court offers a range of burgers, steaks, lobster and chicken dishes, as well as a selection of starters and sides, milkshakes and mocktails. There are also options for vegetarians, such as the Falafel Veg Burger (with tahini sauce, salsa and garlic mayo, rocket and pickled onion), and those looking to push the boat out can order the £27 surf and turf meal.
Open from 5-10.30pm Monday to Wednesday, 2-10pm on Thursday, 5-11pm on Friday, 2-11pm on Saturday and 4-7pm on Sundays, The Chopping Court offers bookings online, via phone or via email.
