Many of you will no doubt recognise the big yellow truck that houses Bertha’s Pizza: a mobile pizzeria that can be found at markets and pop-up events all across Bristol. Now, excitingly, they’ve found themselves a bricks and mortar home within the old Mud Dock Deli building on the corner of Cumberland Road and the new Gaol Ferry Steps at Wapping Wharf.
The premises is set to open in August, after a long search to find the perfect home. Walk past the building and you’ll see a notice pinned up on the door which reads as follows, explaining their journey and what they’ll be doing at their new venue.
Expect plenty of the same great pizza, using dough that’s typically fermented for several days before cooking, along with seasonally changing menus and great ingredients from local suppliers.
They’ll be open at their new premises from early August (well, that’s the plan…) from 5pm to 10pm Wednesday to Saturday, and 5pm to 9pm on Sundays. To stay up to date with their progress, follow them on Facebook or Twitter.
With Pizzarova, Pi Shop and now Bertha’s all within a short walk of each other, that area of the harbourside is turning into a real pizza quarter for Bristol…
