River Cottage Canteen Bristol will be hosting a Spelt Night with the champion of British spelt, Roger Saul, on Thursday, May 19th.
The three course spelt feast will feature mouth-watering recipes from Roger Saul’s Spelt recipe book. During the evening, Roger will discuss his passion for spelt, its health benefits and the inspiration behind Sharpham Park.
Saul, who founded designer label Mulberry, has harvested and milled spelt at Sharpham Park in Somerset since 2004. From its early beginnings, Sharpham Park has been dedicated to growing spelt grain in an organic and eco-friendly way. The Sharpham Park range, which includes flours, breakfast cereals, pearled spelt and risottos, is available in shops nationwide along with the Spelt recipe book. This special spelt night will showcase not only the versatility of the grain but also its nutty and grainy flavour and texture.
On the night, guests will receive a selection of spelt starters to share as well as a main course from the book and a tasty dessert. Roger will also sign copies of his book, which will be available for sale on the night.
Tickets are £28, which include the three-course set menu. The evening will start at 7.30pm. For more information about the evening, click here.
