The team behind Hyde & Co Leisure are getting ready to open their latest venture – Bambalan – in the city centre.
Located on the first floor of Colston Tower, Bambalan will be all about good value Mediterranean and North African style food. The inside will feature a large, open plan layout, while diners can enjoy a large, south facing roof terrace outside – with not only unrivalled views across the city centre, but also a vintage ice cream van parked up on one side.
Unlike Hyde & Co’s other venues, Bambalan will be open all day, offering a breakfast & brunch selection rolling into an all day menu. Food will be cooked using a charcoal fired grill, a rotisserie and a wood-fired oven and all meals will be served with a selection of salads and sides, as well as a range of lighter dishes with a focus on yoghurts and marinades rather than rich, stock based sauces.
Diners can expect options such as rotisserie grilled chicken, whole fish, Pide (Turkish pizza), and a big focus on breakfast. In the mornings, there will be toasters on the tables, home made granola, fruit & yoghurt and a range of cooked breakfasts including merguez sausage, poached egg, tabbouleh, hummus & flat breads.
Colston Tower is home to plenty of office workers, who can enjoy fresh filter coffee, funky teas and coolers throughout the day, while customers in a rush can drop into Bambalan Grind on Colston Street for healthy, independently-sourced snacks and drinks to take away from 7.00am.
Evening guests will be tempted with a short, but carefully curated selection of wines, beers and cocktails alongside a healthy low and non-alcoholic selection of long drinks & coolers.
While the opening is planned for April, a definite opening date had not been confirmed at the time of writing. Follow Bambalan on Twitter at @BAM_BA_LAN to stay up-to-date with their plans…
