The Bagel Boy team are taking over Bristol! They have two bagel premises – one on St Nicholas Street and the more recently opened venue on Gloucester Road – and now they’ve expanded into pizza, with the opening of Proven on St Stephen’s Street.
The venue (formerly part of Mr Wolf’s) is directly under Bagel Boy’s St Nicholas Street store, and serves slices of 20″ pizza and a range of deli sides. They can seat 18-20 customers at a time, and all of their menu options are available either to eat in or take away.
Priced at between £2 and £2.50 per slice, there are currently seven different pizza options available, from a simple mozzarella, tomato sauce and basil leaves concoction to number 7, which stars goats’ cheese, prosciutto, grated beetroot, red onion, mozzarella, tomato and basil. You can add extras to your slice if desired, and the deli sides (£1.50) and dips (£1) change daily. The full menu can be seen here.
At lunchtime, diners can take advantage of the 12pm – 3pm lunch deal, which offers either two slices and a drink, or one slice, two deli sides and a drink for £5. There’s even the option to take a whole 20″ pizza away for between £16 and £18, depending on the option chosen.

I went with some colleagues a week or so ago and we got the lunch time deal.
Massive slices (definetely left feeling full) and pretty tasty. The downside was that there wasn’t really enough seating and there wasn’t much of an atmosphere so it didn’t feel like the kind of place to sit around talking over lunch, more of a place to hit and run.
