“A concept unlike any other” is how cocktail bar & restaurant Aluna is described on its website: a concept that began with the opening of a bar in Birmingham, and which has now spread to Bristol.
Aluna has opened in the former home of Thai Edge on Broad Quay: a fairly large space which, from walking past, looks to be very opulently decorated. Open from 12pm to 12am Sunday to Thursday, and from 12pm to 1.30am Friday to Saturday, Aluna aims to be a venue that people visit for both their food and their drink offering.
Food-wise, the menu looks a little confused: a combination of both European offerings (such as chicken Florentine and wild mushroom tagliatelle) and Asian dishes, including options such as a Massaman curry and pan-fried duck in ponzu sauce.
On the drinks front, you’ll find a huge range of cocktails (priced from £6.95 to £9.95), as well as 25ml “vaccines and potions” priced at £4 each. There’s a reasonably sized wine list with a variety of price points, and also a selection of mocktails.
