Contracts have exchanged which will see Casamia relocate from its Westbury-on-Trym location to the site of the former Bristol General Hospital.
Casamia will occupy one of the ground level units overlooking the harbourside. Casamia, which has held a coveted Michelin star since 2009, plans to reopen in January 2016, bringing its highly regarded menu and team of staff to the city centre.
Jonray Sanchez-Iglesias, co-owner of Casamia, commented: “Our Westbury restaurant has given us so many wonderful memories and it will forever hold a place in our hearts, but we’re incredibly excited about starting Casamia’s next chapter here at The General, a landmark development in the city. City & Country (the developers) just like us, are a family-run business and share many of the same values, including outstanding attention to detail and an insistence of quality.”
Peter Sanchez-Iglesias, co-owner of Casamia, continued: “As Bristol boys we obviously saw no need to look any further than the BS postcode. And with the spacious dining room, stunning views and great location it’s the perfect place for us to push our high standards to the next level. With our existing team at the helm we hope to delight guests with a truly high quality dining experience they have come to expect from us.”
The new fine dining venue will continue to offer Casamia’s seasonal tasting menus, focusing on the best British produce available. Open for lunch and dinner on specified days of the week, the new restaurant will also offer a private dining room for up to 12 people in the Test Kitchen.
