The Harbourside Market celebrates the creativity and talent found across Bristol in a celebration of delicious food, original art, handmade gifts, live music, workshops, performances and children’s entertainment – and from May it’s getting a whole lot bigger.

The bustling market runs every Saturday and Sunday from 10am – 4pm under the covered walkway outside the Watershed. From Saturday 9th May The Harbourside Market will stretch around the waterside to the other side of the harbour and will introduce new zones including Street Food, Fresh Produce & Farmers’ Market, Maker’s & Creators, Vintage & Flea and Suitcase Sellers.

The expansion coincides with Bristol Food Connections, the perfect introduction to the new Fresh Produce & Farmers’ Market which will give locals and visitors the opportunity to buy delicious produce from the best value local farmers, growers and suppliers every weekend, bang in the middle of the city centre. Whether its affordable weekly groceries or luxury treats, the diverse mix of stalls will ensure there is something to everyone’s taste.

Market Manager, James Coomber commented, “With the number of people living in the city centre on the rise, it’s great to be able to provide an independent alternative to the high street on their doorsteps. The Harbourside Market will be bigger and better than ever and a place to get quality, fresh and local produce somewhere affordable and fun.”

With a strong ethos of responsibility, creativity and sustainability, The Harbourside Market is a fiercely independent alternative to the High Street but also focuses on being much more than ‘just another row of tables’. Visitors can expect a feast for the senses – delicious smells from the Street Food sellers, colour and texture from décor designed by The Harbourside Market’s Artist in Residence and music to get your toes tapping from live bands, the best of Bristol’s buskers and The Harbourside Market’s very own resident DJ. The market will also introduce ‘The Landing Stage’, which will see takeovers from a diverse range of Bristol-based creatives who want their voices heard.

The Harbourside Market is taking applications for stallholders, musicians and entertainers for May and June. Anyone interested should visit the website for more information at www.theharboursidemarket.co.uk.
