Not-for-profit charity Young Enterprise has one key aim: “to inspire and equip young people to learn and succeed through enterprise”. One such group of young people is the team behind new Young Enterprise business Azzurro – a Bristol-based company that specialises in “easy bake jars”, allowing you to create a range of cakes and traybakes with no hassle.
The Azzurro team consists of fifteen young entrepreneurs aged from 14-16, all of whom attend St Bede’s Catholic College in Lawrence Weston. Knowing that they had to design a product that stood out, a great deal of brainstorming led them to create their easy bake jars: beautiful reusable jars that feature layers of ingredients for a range of different cakes.
Says Azzurro’s Marketing Director, Amy, “The aim of our product is to make it easier for the consumer. Here at Azzurro, we know that making a cake can cause loads of mess, and can be quite complicated! Our product provides an alternative for those who don’t have time to make a creation of their own.”
The range of jars produced by Azzurro includes Terrific Triple Choc Cookies, Brilliant Brownies and Extra Divine Lemon and Lime Cake. All of the ingredients are layered in reusable jars, with labels that feature photos of the finished product along with cooking instructions.
While the team have no permanent location, they will be selling their jars at St Nick’s Market on February 28th, and plan to appear at a range of other events around Bristol. To keep track of their movements, visit their website, follow them on Twitter or Instagram or find them on Facebook.
