185 Gloucester Road is now home to a brand new “multi-cuisine restaurant” in the form of Food Nation: a restaurant that blends elements of Keralan, Chinese, Mexican and Far Eastern food and more.
Open 7 days a week from 5pm to 11pm, it appears that the Food Nation team are aiming for a broad target market. Diners can choose from “Live BBQ” (cooked on hot stones at the table), or a range of dishes from Food Nation’s kitchen or smoke pit. There’s also an all you can eat buffet on offer.
The menu certainly looks pretty diverse. Starters are priced between £3.25 and £6.99, with mains from £3.80 to £9.99 – all pretty reasonable. Expect plenty of curries and stews, with a range of meat, fish/seafood and vegetarian dishes available.
You’ll also find a small selection of desserts such as coconut and rose water pudding or kulfi, as well as a variety of wines, cocktails, mocktails and soft drinks, plus welcome drinks that include coconut water, a lemon and mint cooler and a coconut punch.
