Number 15 Union Gate at 63 Union Street in the city centre is now home to a brand new venue: the Steam Cafe Bar on the ground floor, and Riproar Comedy on the first floor.
At the time of writing, Riproar was already open: an independent live standup comedy club with shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Downstairs is set to open on Wednesday, November 12th, with the Steam Cafe Bar promising a high quality cafe bar by day, and an evening destination bar with DJs and live music by night.
Open from 8am until late, 7 days a week, the Steam Cafe Bar will serve breakfasts, brunches, lunches and dinners, all crafted from high quality, local and seasonal ingredients. Local suppliers include MJ Dalton Butchers, Brian Wogan Coffee, Joe’s Bakery and Charlotte’s Cakes and Crafts.
A takeaway menu of sandwiches, baguettes, paninis and cakes is perfect for nearby workers, while they will also offer a variety of teas, coffees, organic milkshakes, fine wines, beers, ales and more.
Free WiFi access and multiple charging points demonstrate their desire to be somewhere where people can linger and catch up on work or surf the net – and both the Steam Cafe Bar and Riproar can be hired out for private events.
