October 1st event to show small food businesses how to grow into winning brands

On the 1st October 2014, top foodie movers and shakers will gather at Puxton Park, North Somerset to deliver a professional master class on turning small businesses into winning brands.

Hosted by leading Bristol law firm Gregg Latchams and small business coaching guru ActionCOACH , this exciting event will take place from 10am to 1.30pm on 1st October at the award-winning Puxton Park on the outskirts of Bristol.

Foodie delegates can look forward to expert advice on creating and legally protecting a brand, how to market that brand to ensure maximum sales as well as top tips on how to grow a food business in the current economic climate. Guests are also invited to enjoy complimentary refreshments and a delicious South West producer’s buffet lunch.

The key note speaker will be archaeologist-turned-cheese maker, Todd Trethowan. Todd has channelled his passion for cheese into an award-winning business whose products are sold in Waitrose and exported to artisan cheese shops throughout the world. His talk will cover:

• The award winning product and the business
• The new dairy and challenges encountered in finding and then acquiring it
• The challenges faced starting and running a business in countryside/Wales and why Puxton is a better location.
• How a small business gets its product stocked by a supermarket
• Why Gorwydd has made the leap from being an artisan product stocked by speciality stores to being listed in Waitrose
• Pitfalls a budding food producer should look out for

This South West success story really flies the flag for small producers and is a great example of a small family run business that has turned into a nationally recognised brand.

Other inspirational speakers on the day will include Chris Head of the West of England Rural Network, Rob Carter of ActionCOACH and the specialist Food, Drink and Hospitality team from Gregg Latchams solicitors.
