CAU to open on the Triangle on August 4th, 2014

CAU, the restaurant group offering contemporary cuisine inspired by the vibrancy, colour and cultural diversity of Buenos Aires, will be bringing a flavour of the city to the Triangle area of Bristol this August. CAU is about more than just fabulous beef; the menu features a range of dishes, including twice cooked pork belly and seafood spaghettini, dishes and influences that you’d likely find in the melting pot that is Buenos Aires.

CAU Bristol marks a number of significant firsts. It will be the largest UK CAU to date with a capacity of 150, the first restaurant in a major city centre and finally the restaurant will be the first to offer breakfast; making it an all-day destination. Dishes on the breakfast menu include steak & eggs, classic eggs benedict with an Argentine twist, and of course the CAU full English breakfast. CAU have also created a new drinks list which includes a knock out (not literally) Bloody Mary.

The design of CAU Bristol will mark a departure from the current aesthetic, in part driven by the architecture and feel of the site. The restaurant will have a more industrial and imposing feel: Creative Director Patsy Godik says: “The space is inspirational and has allowed us to put in a wonderful centralised kitchen and bar which is the focal point. We also played with creating different levels which resulted in some fun and quirky designs such as raised booths, and an even more dynamic treatment of the ceiling and its lighting.”

Located on the Triangle, an area known for its bustling atmosphere and energy, CAU will bring something new and genuinely different to the crowded casual dining market in the city.

Graham Hall, Operations Director says: “We have been honing the offering over the last 12 months and I know CAU Bristol will show how much we have pushed the brand forward, creating what I know will be a brilliant all day offering.”

CAU’s Marketing Director Charley Springall is perhaps the most excited to be heading out west… “I am thrilled we are coming to Bristol, it is a city very close to my heart having spent three years at university here. I think that our personality and ethos will fit in well with the locals and will be a great addition to an already vibrant dining scene. I only wish it had been here when I was at university!”

CAU Bristol marks the group’s third opening in 2014, following hot on the hooves of Kingston which opened in April and Tunbridge Wells (February). Bristol will be the sixth CAU restaurant.

As with all the restaurants, the team at CAU Bristol will be getting actively involved in the local community supporting local charities and arts organisations.
