Bristol Hotel - Vintage Afternoon Tea

To celebrate the height of summer, The Bristol Hotel is offering two traditional afternoon teas for two people for just £20 from now until Sunday 31 August 2014, as long as the teas are pre-booked by calling the hotel on 0117 923 0333. The usual menu price is £17.50 per person or £35 for two, meaning this fantastic deal represents a saving of over 40 per cent.

Afternoon tea at The Bristol Hotel is presented vintage style, on a three-tier stand, with three dedicated plates of sandwiches, scones and cakes, alongside a freshly-brewed pot of tea served in pretty cups and saucers, all delivered to a table in the property’s River Lounge with its picturesque Harbourside views.

The bottom plate of the cake stand includes finger sandwiches of smoked salmon, cucumber and cream cheese, egg mayonnaise and cress, and ham and tomato. In the middle are scones, served with clotted Cornish cream and miniature jars of Wilkin & Son strawberry jam. The top plate is reserved for their pastry chef’s daily creations, such as cream-filled meringues, lemon drizzle cake and chocolate cupcakes.

Guests can choose from a range of Clipper Estate teas, served in old-style china pots, but they recommend one of the following: Assam, Darjeeling, Earl Grey or Lapsang Souchong in keeping with tradition. To add an extra special dimension to afternoon tea, guests can sip on a Hendricks Gin cocktail (for an additional cost of £5 per person) or a glass of house Champagne (adding £7.50 per person to the bill). A lovely way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or simply the weekend!

The Bristol Hotel serves traditional afternoon tea from 2pm to 6pm daily. For more information, visit the website and/or to book, call 0117 923 0333. Please note, this offer is only available in multiples of two, so two for £20, four for £40, six for £60 and so on.
