Popular pub The Greenhouse on Park Street is now serving breakfast from 8am, Monday to Friday.
The new menu caters for all breakfast needs, from customers wanting a leisurely start to the day to workers looking for a ‘grab and go’ option on their way to the office.
The Greenhouse now has a café feel during breakfast serving times. Each table, decked with a green and white checked cloth, has its own Dualit toaster, enabling customers to create toast just how they like it. Other nostalgic touches include the display of pastries on wooden crates, suitcases and a retro bicycle with wicker basket at the front of the building.
Breakfasters at the Greenhouse can choose from three menus. The Hearty Offer includes a value or full farmhouse breakfast (with a veggie option), sausage and bacon sandwiches or egg dishes such as Eggs Benedict. The Healthy menu includes porridge, granola or Greek yoghurt served with fresh fruit or honey, a range of cereals or smoked salmon with scrambled eggs. Finally, those in a hurry can pick from a selection of homemade cakes and morning goods to take away including toasted banana bread and carrot cake.
A full range of coffees and teas from ethical coffee company Cafeology, and Twinings herbal teas are available to drink on site or carry out.
General manager at the Greenhouse, Neil Shorter, said, “Everyone agrees that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but in the rush to get out for work or the school run, it can be hard to manage a good breakfast at home.
“Our breakfast menu offers a range of great-tasting, affordably-priced options that we know our customers will enjoy, and enough choice to keep regulars satisfied through the week. We’re looking forward to opening our doors from 8am Monday to Friday and welcoming our breakfast customers.”
He added, “We’ve created a great, retro café feel at the pub for breakfast service, but come ‘cocktail o’clock’ every evening, the Greenhouse will be transformed back into a pub-bar.”
